| Distinguished American Speaker Prof. James Lindsay, University of Texas at Austin --
On Friday morning, May 8, Ambassador James B. Cunningham and Mrs. James B. Cunningham hosted Prof. James M. Lindsay for a lecture in the Embassy’s Distinguished American Speaker Series. He spoke about "The Obama Administration and Smart Power,” with leading Israeli experts in American Foreign Policy, including senior government officials, university professors, researchers from strategic think tanks, a newly-elected Member of Knesset, and former ambassadors to the United States. This timely presentation took place ten days before Prime Minister Netanyahu’s first meeting with President Obama as President. A lively discussion followed Prof. Lindsay’s remarks. In 1996-1997, Dr. Lindsay was director for global issues and multilateral affairs at the National Security Council; in June 2009, he will become Senior Vice President, Director of Studies, and Maurice R. Greenberg Chair at the Council on Foreign Relations, a position he held from 2003-2006.
