Distinguished American Speaker SeriesAuthor Jamaica Kincaid
 In honor of Black History Month, on Thursday, January 22, 2004, acclaimed author
Jamaica Kincaid read from her works at the residence of Ambassador Daniel C.
Kurtzer as part of the U.S. Embassy Israel's "Distinguished American
Speaker" series. Ms. Kincaid proved to be a truly excellent representative
of America's diverse society. She captivated her audience with her warmth
and honesty while discussing the troubling issues facing the USA today. Ms.
Kincaid provided the Embassy with the opportunity to showcase one of
America's most gifted novelists and to promote the richness of America's
cultural tapestry.
