Information Resource Center & Library Services

The American Center will be closed on all official U.S. and Israeli holidays. These holidays are listed here. Please make note of these dates and make your plans accordingly. In the event of an emergency, please contact the American Center at 02-625-5755 extension 330 or 331 (Library). 

The American Center in Jerusalem is part of the Office of Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs of the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv. Part of the American Center is the Information Resource Center which provides specialized, substantive, and accurate information about the United States to Israeli government officials, journalists, researchers, academics, NGOs, and others with a professional interest in the United States and American Studies.

The Information Resource Center is the largest repository of U.S. government information in Israel. The Information Resource Center has an extensive American Studies collection of books, videos, DVDs, and periodicals. Our library is open to the public for research. Books and periodicals may be borrowed free of charge.

The collection concentrates on international relations, history, politics, elections, society and culture (including fiction, plays, and poetry), and economics. We also have many resources for students seeking information about studing in the United States.

Research services are available via phone, fax, or E-mail.

המרכז האמריקני הינו מרכז מידע וספרייה המהווה את המאגר הגדול ביותר של מידע אודות ממשלת ארצות הברית בישראל. המרכז האמריקני הינו חלק ממחלקת הסברה וקשרי חוץ של שגרירות ארצות הברית.

המרכז האמריקני מארגן תוכניות בשיתוף עם מומחים אמריקניים וישראלים על נושאים בעלי עניין עבור ישראל וארצות הברית ביניהם הדיאלוג היהודי-ערבי, חינוך אזרחי, רפורמות שיפוטיות, דמוקרטיה ותרבות.

המרכז האמריקני מציע כ- 6,000 ספרי עיון יעץ והשאלה, מאגרי מידע ממוחשבים, סרטים (וידאו ו-DVD), כ-80 כתבי-עת, תמלילי  נאומים, מסיבות עיתונאים ועוד של נשיאי ארצות-הברית (U.S. Presidential Papers)  והביטאון Foreign Relations of the United States ומשאבים אחרים אודות הממשל האמריקני, פוליטיקה, חברה, היסטוריה ותרבות. כמו כן ניתנת גישה לרשת האינטרנט. 

כל השירות ניתן בחינם. צוות מקצועי זמין לסייע לחוקרים, תלמידים וסטודנטים. הצוות מקבל שאילתות באמצעות טלפון, פקס ודואר אלקטרוני.

שרותינו ניתן לקהל הרחב. תושבי קבע של ישראל בני 16 ומעלה (בעלי תעודת זהות) זכאים להשאיל חומר בחינם.

המרכז האמריקני סגור בימי שבת ובכל החגים והמועדים האמריקניים והישראלים.
