WHITE HOUSE REPORT Clinton returns to Wye
President Clinton returned to Wye early October 22 to continue peace negotiations between Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority Chairman Arafat.
"The hardest decisions now, at last, are on the table," Clinton said upon departure from the South Lawn of the White House. "Israel, the Palestinians, the region and the world have very much at stake today," he noted.
As Clinton returned for the eighth day of negotiations, he said he hopes that "the parties will seize this opportunity and not retreat from the clear moment to capture the momentum of peace, and keep it moving forward."
