- NEW APPOINTMENT SYSTEM FOR NONIMMIGRANT VISAS
The U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv and the Consulate General in Jerusalem are postponing the scheduled February 1 introduction of the U.S. Visa Information Web Service for Israel, West Bank and Gaza to address unforeseen technical issues. A new release date has not yet been set, but the Embassy and Consulate General expect that the new service will be launched later in February. An announcement will be issued prior to the starting date. Applicants will be required to schedule all appointments for nonimmigrant visa interviews on the Internet. Applicants will be able to access on the Internet all the information they need to apply for a nonimmigrant or immigrant visa to the U.S. This service will be available from within Israel, the West Bank and Gaza, as well as from the United States or anyplace in the world an applicant has a computer with Internet service. The website will provide information in four languages: Hebrew, Arabic, Russian, and English. The service will be available to the public 24 hours a day. Applicants will no longer be required to schedule nonimmigrant visa appointments through travel agencies but will have the option to schedule appointments themselves. Applicants will complete their visa application forms online and must print out the application and bring it with them on the day of the appointment. The online visa information and appointment service will require a payment of $12 USD. Applicants will be able to pay through the website using a Visa or MasterCard. Alternatively, applicants who choose not to use a credit card will be able to purchase a Personal Identification Number (PIN) at Israeli Post Offices or Cairo-Amman Bank for a shekel equivalent fee of $14.00 so they can access the site. The PIN will allow access to the site for information and for scheduling up to 5 appointments for immediate family members who reside in the same household. Emergency appointments must also be scheduled through this service. The Internet address for the new service is:
http://VisaInfo.US-Visaservices.com
Immigrant visa appointments will continue to be scheduled through the Embassy and the Consulate General.
