Ambassador Richard H. Jones Introduces Ornili Azulay’s Performance

Good evening.  Joan and I are delighted to welcome you to our home for this performance by the internationally known artist Ornili Azulay. 

We initially thought of inviting an ensemble made up of a dancer, a choreographer, a multi-lingual actress, a director, and a poet who has studied philosophy and classical literature for this evening’s program.  But we realized that Ornili fills all of those roles and more. 

Azulay is a classically trained dancer, acclaimed for her artistic interpretations of Flamenco and Spansih dance.  Departing from her classical roots, Azulay weaves her dancing into a myriad of musical styles, and mediums. In addition to her many stage appearances, including with the Israeli Philharmaonic Orchestra, Azulay is also featured in two of David Broza’s music videos.

Tonight, we have the honor of viewing Azulay perform a combination of dance, theater and poetry. Ornili’s performance this evening will be moderated by well-known drama instructor Yonny Lucas.
