Ambasssador hosts a Roundtable with Community Coalition Experts (January 8)

Ambassador James B. Cunningham hosted NGO leaders, inviting them to exchange views with visiting lecturers, Rabbi Robert Kaplan and Mohammad Razvi on "Community Coalition Building: A Tool for Conflict Resolution in Multi-Cultural Societies."  The two speakers reviewed their week's activities in several mixed cities in Israel and explained how those communities are using and adapting their community building tools.  The speakers were deeply impressed with the ability of the Israeli participants to observe, learn, apply, and adapt in their communities the lessons shared in the workshops.  They stressed that the most important concept in their community coalition and leadership development work is "inclusion" (sharing resources, as distinct from "tolerance").
